The story of Alukkas started more than five decades ago in Thrissur, the cultural capital of Kerala. Thrissur's rich artistic tradition made it one of the most prominent hubs for fine jewellery craftsmanship in India. In 1960, A. J. Varghese, the founder, realized his dream by establishing a modest 200 sq. ft. showroom on High Road, Thrissur, later expanding to M. O. Road.
With deep empathy for customer aspirations and an steadfast commitment to ethical trade, he laid the cornerstone of what would become one of the country's most respected jewellery houses. He and his wife, Mrs. Elia Varghese, instilled humanitarian values, charity, and visionary leadership into their five sons: Mr. Jose, Mr. Paul, Mr. Francis, Mr. Joy, and Mr. Anto.
